I saw the movie first. I really think it will become a classic.The novelization is wonderful. It captures the spirit, heart, of the story, and adds some backstory, and inner feelings of the characters. Now I have to order the Art of Darkness book to go with it!

Loved this book. I was always looking forward to reading the next page. Haven't seen the movie yet bc I have a little baby and I was so happy when they came out with a book. I don't think anything can compare to your imagination and all the descriptions a book can give you. It was full of love, loss, hope and mystery. Quite scary at some points especially if you're reading in bed with all the lights off. I loved the main character. She had a good balance of kindness and innocence, mixed with bravery and a deep understand of ones soul.
An enjoyable gothic novel! Once upon a time gothic novels reigned supreme for all to enjoy. Men and women found themselves engrossed in the haunting settings where evil was veiled in the guise of love. This novelization of Crimson Peak fulfills this premise leading the reader to a secret which dwells within the halls of "Crimson Peak".

The paper quality is good, perfect size to keep it with yourself and rear it through the day.
I fell in love with the movie and the book gave some more insight into these fascinating characters!!! A MUST see film, who did an amazing job writing and directing this film, he's just phenomenal!! And Nancy Holder just added that special insight into this story!!! Thank you for a ghost story that will be hard to let go for some time....
I loved this book. I had seen the movie first. As much as I enjoyed the movie, the book filled in some details that were lacking from the movie. The book was beautifully written, and the descriptions of the clothing, the scenery and the house itself were amazing. This book can stand on its own without the movie, but I highly recommend seeing the movie as well as reading the book.
Loved the story line, the historical/gothic setting, the beautiful and poetic sentence structure and pacing, and the fully fleshed out characters, who were very complex, but with very human and relatable motivations. Loved just about everything in this novel, especially since it did not start out as a true novel, but was turned in to a novelization based on the screenplay, and I must say that Nancy Holder did a fabulous job with the adaptation. Highly recommended.
I fell deeply in love with the film and knew I had to read the novelization. The poetry in this novel is chilling and fantastic. The extra details bring unanswered questions to light and flesh the characters out a little more. If you fell in love with the film, this novel will deepen it. I enjoyed learning about the siblings upbringing and seeing Edith much more in-depth. The house is very much alive and full of hatred and that made the setting all the more chilling. I will have to make this a Halloween staple for my reading list!
